The existing volume could not be changed, so we adapt the guest house program to it.Save this picture!Courtesy of Dom ArchitectureFirst of all we covered with insulation and waterproofing the roof, and then we did the same with the facades and interior space. The idea is to open the inside space to outside, so the users could be available to enjoy the large garden with views. The cover is extended with a new wicker pergola with iron structure, so we can increase the terrace space and visitors will be more in touch with the garden, the nature and the orchard.Save this picture!Courtesy of Dom ArchitectureThe interior space is understood almost as a single and continuous space where the living room, kitchen and small dining area, form the main space and it is also connected to the bedroom and bathroom.Save this picture!Floor PlanIn the bedroom we design a continuous furniture, with the same flooring wood,  a base cabinet, also becomes the head of the bed, and encompassed the window perimeter. It can be used as a bench where you could enjoy the framed views.Save this picture!Courtesy of Dom ArchitectureThe kitchen furniture, the fireplace furniture and cabinets maintain the same modulation, and they help us to distribute the ordered space.Save this picture!DetailProject gallerySee allShow lessMackay Terrace / Shaun Lockyer ArchitectsSelected ProjectsCall for Entries: AZ AWARDS 2015Architecture News Share “COPY” ShareFacebookTwitterPinterestWhatsappMailOrhttps://www.archdaily.com/589028/mountain-guest-house-dom-architecture Clipboard Houses Area:  65 m² Area:  65 m² Photographs CopyHouses•Barcelona, Spain “COPY”center_img Mountain Guest House / Dom Architecture Mountain Guest House / Dom ArchitectureSave this projectSaveMountain Guest House / Dom Architecture Projects Architects: Dom Architecture Area Area of this architecture project ShareFacebookTwitterPinterestWhatsappMailOrhttps://www.archdaily.com/589028/mountain-guest-house-dom-architecture Clipboard Spain CopyAbout this officeDom ArchitectureOfficeFollowProductsWoodStoneConcrete#TagsProjectsBuilt ProjectsSelected ProjectsResidential ArchitectureHousesBarcelonaHousesSpainPublished on January 20, 2015Cite: “Mountain Guest House / Dom Architecture” 20 Jan 2015. Jenkins releases details on first 2020 presidential debate

first_imgOnly some of the seats in the Purcell Pavilion in the Joyce Center will be reserved for community members at September’s presidential debate, University President Fr. John Jenkins announced in an email late Tuesday night.Scheduled to take place Sept. 29, the debate will be held in the Purcell Pavilion in the Joyce Center, where “only a portion of the seats in the arena will be available.” Mary Bernard | The Observer University President Fr. John Jenkins announces that Notre Dame will host the first general election debate of the 2020 election at an October 11 press conference. Jenkins announced further details surrounding the debate in an email to the community late Tuesday night.“Although I would like to provide access to every member of the Notre Dame community, this will not be possible,” Jenkins said in the email.A “small, and as yet undetermined” number of tickets will be allocated to enrolled Notre Dame students through a lottery system. Notre Dame Stadium will also host a “special debate watch” for community members not invited to attend. The Commission on Presidential Debates announced in October that Notre Dame would host the first presidential debate of the 2020 general election campaign. The event will mark the first time the University has hosted a presidential debate, which Jenkins said should be seen as an opportunity.“As we prepare for the debate, let us also remember that it will shine a spotlight on our campus,” Jenkins said. “ … Let us do our best to embody our characteristic Notre Dame hospitality, and to show ourselves to be engaged, thoughtful and civil.”In the email, Jenkins also announced the “presidential debate and election” will be themes of the 2020 installment of the Notre Dame Forum, an annual occasion meant to promote discussion about issues the University deems important. The forum features an array of keynote events under a given theme.“Through these keynote events [in 2020], we hope to invite the campus community to explore the history of presidential debates, offer insights into what to look for in the debates and provide food for thought about the key issues before us as citizens in the upcoming election,” Jenkins said.Disruptions are expected, Jenkins said, as the University is expecting about 3,000 journalists and support staff from around the world to descend on campus ahead of the debate.Jenkins encouraged the Notre Dame community to use the event as an opportunity to engage in “serious, honest but civil discussion.”“The hosting of this debate and the coming election cycle is an opportunity for the members of this community to model vigorous and honest disagreement that is at the same time respectful and reasoned,” he said.Tags: 2020 general election, 2020 Presidential Debate, University President Fr. Local Libraries Land Almost $700,000 In Construction Grants

first_imgALBANY — Several Chautauqua County libraries will share $699,576 in capital funds for library construction projects in the 2020 State Budget, according to Assemblyman Andrew Goodell. The state funds provide up to 75 percent of approved costs of broadband installation and the acquisition, construction, renovation, or rehabilitation of public libraries or public library system headquarters. Any public library or public library system chartered by the Regents of the State of New York or established by an act of the New York State Legislature is eligible to apply for State Aid for Library Construction.Image by Justin Gould/WNYNewsNow.Awards will be shared as follows:The Darwin R. Barker Library Association will receive $10,600; Dunkirk Public Library will receive $18,170; Fluvanna Free Library will receive $9,0000; Hazeltine Public Library will receive $15,900; James Prendergast Library will receive $5,999; Kennedy Free Library will receive $42,542; Mary E. Seymour Memorial Free Library will receive $62,697; Minerva Free Library will receive $11,625; Patterson Library will receive $323,318 and Ripley Public Library will receive $199,725. “Local libraries struggle with reduced funding and increased costs, creating challenges to their budgets and ability to provide the services relied on by their communities. It is extremely difficult to raise funds for construction in addition to funding routine operating budgets. This construction aid is a valuable resource for libraries to keep their facilities current, viable, safe, and compliant, “Goodell said. Salah now in Emery’s top five after PSG snub

first_img0Shares0000Mohamed Salah’s form at Liverpool has impressed Arsenal manager Unai Emery, who previously had doubts about the Egypt international © AFP / Paul ELLISLONDON, United Kingdom, Dec 28 – Arsenal manager Unai Emery believes Mohamed Salah is now among the world’s top five players, despite failing to sign him when he was in charge of Paris Saint-Germain.The Gunners boss will be in opposition to the Liverpool forward when his Arsenal side face the unbeaten Premier League leaders at Anfield on Saturday. Egypt international Salah, 26, has scored 59 goals in 78 matches since arriving at Anfield from Italian club Roma before the start of the 2017/18 season.Emery was coach of Ligue 1 champions PSG at the time and on Friday he admitted to being uncertain as to how Salah would cope with the pressure of playing for a major club.“We spoke about the possibility to sign Salah to Paris St Germain when he was playing at Roma,” Emery said.“We had some doubts — and then he signed for Liverpool and these doubts he has broken at Liverpool. Now, if you are speaking about the five top players in the world, one is Salah.”Emery, asked about the nature of his reservations regarding Salah, added: “Can he take the performance into one big team?“For example like PSG in Paris. And today I can say to you…if we signed him, we signed one player in the top five in the world.”Emery said the signings of Salah and centre-back Virgil van Dijk had been central to Liverpool’s progress under Jurgen Klopp.“I remember three years ago they had a problem in their defensive moments and bought some people — for example van Dijk — with a good investment and the result is we are looking at them today and their progress,” he said.“They are very strong in defence and also they are improving a lot when they bought Salah and now offensively they are a very big team.”The Spaniard added: “I think the Premier League is now the best and most important competition in the world for the teams, with Spain, maybe Italy and Germany.“But I think here are the best teams and players and now the leader in the table is Liverpool — and it is because they are doing things very well.”0Shares0000(Visited 2 times, 1 visits today)last_img read more
